The top end of the game on WoW is raiding. It is the biggest baddest fights you can do in the game. A good guild is absolutely necessary to begin the whole process of raiding. These are people you will be working with every single day. Make sure you have plenty of gold and preform well when doing pugs. If you show your guild you are a self starter you will be perfectly capable of joining a good guild. Always remain professional when you deal with a guild. The big guilds want to avoid drama at all costs when they raid.

The issue that crops up in most cases is that the raider is not quite geared enough for the dungeon that he is attempting to join in on. Once you get to level 80 you will need to do the normal dungeons, then you progress to heroic ones, afterward is 10 man raiding, then you go on to 25 man raiding. No one wants to carry someone who went straight from normal dungeons to 25 man raiding. You will only be a problem if you try to do this.
